Friends of Baseball (FOB) harnesses the power of baseball and softball to nurture the holistic development of low-income youth and youth of color in underserved communities.

FOB By The Numbers

• 40,000+ youth served since 2005
• $5.1 million invested in programming, scholarships, and equipment
• 80% of participants in youth of color in 2024
• 75% of participants come from economically disadvantaged households in 2024
• 25+ community partnerships across the Portland Metro area

According to the Aspen Institute, household income is the #1 determinant of youth sports participation. Many children miss out on organized sports due to financial and systemic barriers, limiting their access to crucial developmental opportunities and mentorship. Friends of Baseball is bridging that gap.
