DEMAND FOR FRIENDS OF BASEBALL
PROGRAMS HIGHEST EVER Register today and join Friends of Baseball for a memorable night dedicated to celebrating our collective love of baseball, softball, and helping youth in our community swing for the fences - on the field and in life. |
Help Support Full Count RBI Youth Programming
Lately, it seems like every pitch has been a curveball. Just when we think we have made the right adjustment, life seems to throw another one. But no matter what came our way in the past year, Friends of Baseball dusted ourselves off and got right back in the box. What threatened to disconnect us from our work and our mission, instead motivated our committed and dedicated staff to focus on the simple, yet powerful role of providing joy and healing to youth and families who have faced the disproportionate financial, physical, and emotional impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is why this year’s Swing for the Fences gala is more important than ever.
Our annual event is our largest source of funding for our after school and summer programs. Your ongoing investment in our work has allowed us to provide after school and summer programs — modified to support current health and safety requirements — to support youth in our community. Over the past tumultuous year, the FULL COUNT RBI PROGRAMS have provided:
YOUTH ENGAGEMENT: Launch of Full Count RBI Academy online with fun, active and engaging virtual programming and school supply/gear kit distributions delivered to homes to make sure youth have what they need to participate.
ENDING ISOLATION: Covid-Safe in person, "Play Catch with a Coach" mentoring sessions for youth to connect with positive, trauma-informed mentor coaches.
COMMUNITY RESOURCES: Ongoing Play Ball physical recreation and academic enrichment kit distribution partnerships with Multnomah County Public Health REACH Program. Play East, Community Organizations and food pantries.
NEW PROGRAMS: Launch of our Softball Girls Lead Program, and an Intermediate/Advanced Baseball Program, when it is safe to do so.
Join us virtually from your "home field" on Sept 23 to support the dreams of youth in our community to keep swinging for the fences on the field and in life. To sponsor our interactive event View sponsor packet or reserve your free tickets to our Virtual Gala starting July 21st.
