2021 Friends of Baseball Coach Academy On Demand Presented by Mariners On BASE

Less than 10% of all volunteer coaches receive any formal training (according to our partner Positive Coaching Alliance). Each year in late winter (typically February), Friends of Baseball hosts a subsidized clinic for volunteer youth baseball and softball coaches. Leagues pay a nominal rate for the entire league and can send as many coaches as they want.

- Coach Mark Zender of Mariners Grand Slam Camps
- Mariners On BASE 5-Tool Coach session on creating inclusive environments
- Positive Coaching Alliance Training & Certification
- Baseball-specific breakouts with expert trainers
- Softball-specific breakout with expert trainers
- T-ball/teaching beginners breakout with expert trainers
- AND every coach leaves with a 1 year certification from the date of the clinic backed by our partner Positive Coaching Alliance

A few details regarding the clinic:
League-Affiliated Coaches ($75 for entire league)
Individual Coaches ($20 each)
Who Can Attend?
ALL youth baseball/softball coaches throughout Oregon & Washington!
A small participation fee has been established in order to contribute toward lunch, refreshments, and a few extras. We are very sensitive to these costs, with our sponsor partners keeping them to a minimum. The Preregistration fee is $20 for a single coach or $75 per entire league and will cover the participation fee of all attendees from your organization. For a number of years, some leagues have sent nearly 30 coaches, which made their fee per coach amazingly reasonable. League Scholarships are available for those who might otherwise not be able to attend; please contact us! ([email protected])
As you look ahead … Why not ask a supporter of your league to donate this as an opportunity to give back to “their” coaches, kids and league? For a $75 donation, all the coaches in your league can receive a full scholarship and this contributor gets to make an important investment for the coming season!
We look forward to reuniting with the many coaches from the past events and meeting many more new friends of baseball.
- Leagues who register by January 15th will receive reserved seating at the Clinic
- Plan to preregister — no later than Friday, February 14th
- Plan to preregister early — start assembling your coach lists now
- There will be limited registrations available the day of the event.
- You must complete and send a list of coaches with full names and email addresses via email to [email protected] in advance of the clinic
