175 YOUTH CAME OUT TO WALKER STADIUM TO PLAY BALL ON JULY 21st
Every child deserves the chance to swing for the fences on the field and in life. That's why Friends of Baseball partnered with Mayor Ted Wheeler's Office, Major League Baseball's Play Ball Initiative, and the US Conference of Mayors to bring the free Play Ball Portland Clinic to Portland again this summer!
175 children received the magical experience of playing ball for the first time or gaining more confidence at our Play Ball Portland Clinic on July 21st at Walker Stadium (4727 SE 92nd Avenue) in Portland, OR.

Clinic featured:
- Mayor Ted Wheeler and other VIPs kicking off this second annual Play Ball event in Portland
- Baseball clinicians leading fun, active stations -- participants will rotate stations throughout the day
- Each youth participant received Play Ball swag (NIKE cinch bag, Play Ball tee and wristband, Bat and Ball set, baseball stickers, a Portland Pickles cap and 1 free Portland Pickles Berm ticket for that evening's game at 7:00 pm)
- Free hot dog meal with chips and a beverage provided
- Family Fest activities including painting, activity booths from Friends of Baseball and Positive Coaching Alliance, and food vendors: Don Churro, Paletaz PDX and more...
