2019 Limited Edition Swing for the Fences Cap: The Jayden

Picture

The 2019 Summer Full Count program at Charles Jordan Community Center got to participate in a product design project where youth in our programs were invited to create designs to be selected by our design team and produced by Baseballism. The 2019 limited edition Swing for the Fences cap is named for Jayden Henderson. A proud member of a new generation of ballplayers from Jefferson High, this young man is part of a renewal of the long tradition of baseball there. He has served as a Fellow in our Full Count program for 2 years, supporting over 400 youth to learn the game and represented Friends of Baseball at community events around the Portland metro area. When he is asked to serve, he says yes, and brings his insight, dedication, and inspiration to everything he does.

The goal is to provide a cap to every youth participating in Full Count during the 2019-20 school year and summer 2019 -- approximately 650 youth.

The 2018 Swing for the Fences cap was named the "Zulaykha" after 5 time Full Count participant Zulaykha Armstrachan who has become a leader amongst her peers in the program.
