Friends of Base­ball and Our Part­ner Providers can make avail­able in-kind goods and ser­vices in order to “play the game.” We col­lab­o­rate with many like-minded indi­vid­u­als and orga­ni­za­tions to meet the needs of leagues and teams where clear need has been estab­lished. Each request for assis­tance is reviewed with an eye toward meet­ing all needs through in-kind resources. We will, after exhaust­ing all other options, make grant monies available.

While our Trustees value tour­na­ment play we are unable to fund travel-related expenses.

Where is assis­tance available?

Assis­tance is avail­able in North West Ore­gon. (See map)
If your orga­ni­za­tion is located in the state of Ore­gon but does not fall into our cur­rent ser­vice region, please con­tact us as we may have alter­na­tive resources for your organization.

When will we be noti­fied if we qual­ify for a Resource or In-kind Grant?

The Trustees review all requests for assis­tance on an ongo­ing basis, with deci­sions announced four times each year: Feb­ru­ary, May, August, and Novem­ber. Sub­mis­sions should be for­warded no later than the fol­low­ing dates for review in each cycle:

• Decem­ber 15th
• March 15th
• June 15th
• Sep­tem­ber 15th

On a very lim­ited basis, requests may be con­sid­ered in other months to meet an emer­gency need. All requests are reviewed with con­sid­er­a­tion given to costs, bud­get, com­mu­nity sup­port, and the indi­vid­ual par­tic­i­pa­tion of the leagues them­selves. Leagues must show the desire and abil­ity to part­ner with Friends of Base­ball in reach­ing this shared vision.

How will assis­tance be disbursed?

Our first and fore­most pri­or­ity is to secure needed assis­tance through our net­work of Local and National Part­ners. Trustees may also rec­om­mend the goods or ser­vices come from alter­na­tive provider(s) that offer enhance­ments or cost sav­ings to our pool of resources. Teams or orga­ni­za­tions who receive our assis­tance in any form must for­ward a let­ter to Friends of Base­ballcon­firm­ing imple­men­ta­tion and full dis­clo­sure relat­ing to this assistance.

Orga­ni­za­tions are wel­come to re-apply for our sup­port as spe­cific needs occur. Those orga­ni­za­tions under seri­ous review will be con­tacted directly by a Trustee, to include a pos­si­ble meet­ing with a Trustee, to estab­lish cur­rent infor­ma­tion prior to the final noti­fi­ca­tion of sup­port from Friends of Base­ball or one of our partners.
